Hotel Ottawa and Ottawa Beach in 1901

On an overcast day in the summer of 1901 an unknown photographer took these panoramic photos of Ottawa Beach.
All photos on this page are views to the north; captions above added by webmaster.

A view of Ottawa Beach from atop Old Baldhead.
When the Angel’s Flight scenic lookout opened in 1909, they wisely  trimmed the trees in the foreground.

The annex at the left was connected to the main hotel by a covered walkway which passed over the train tracks and the tennis courts.
Francis Wurzburg’s casino is the shed like structure at the far right. The sign in the foreground reads “keep off the lawn”.  The hotel complex was usually open only in July and August, so this view so strangely devoid of people may have been taken when the hotel was closed.
